Biodiversity on the increase!
A new Bat species, the Greater Horseshoe Bat, has been recorded in Ireland. The male bat was found in Co. Wexford in February by a member of Bat Conservation Ireland. This species had been on the decline in the UK .

Did you know that children can actually hear the sound that bats make but adults can’t. This is because children can hear higher frequencies, and a bat sound is usually very high pitched. Adults need bat detector equipment to be able to hear bats. So listen out at dusk when it’s just beginning to get dark to see if you can hear any of our furry little friends.
